CARE (wall installation)  2025

Nurturing and nourishing humans brings to mind the role of the mother, in both human and natural contexts, plays in sustaining life. It’s such a profound and comforting way to think about the relationship between life and the environment. The way nature sustains us, like a mother does, is something I try to reflect on often. We depend on the earth for everything—food, water, air, shelter—and in return, we often take it for granted or misuse it. It really puts into perspective the importance of reciprocity and respect in our social relationships. In human terms, it reminds me of how the care we give to one another—our families, our communities—mirrors the way nature nurtures us. The cycle of caring is essential to sustainable human development, just as a tree grows from its roots to its branches, and caring is passed on from generation to generation. The branches reach outward, a metaphor for the extension of care, building strong relationships, nurturing growth, and fostering connections.
